MIRACLES HAPPEN – A FOLLOW UP TO DILLON’S SURGERY

MIRACLES HAPPEN – A FOLLOW UP TO DILLON’S SURGERY

I will get back to the nature of Christ Fit with the next blog but for now I must share one more tid bit about Dillon’s neuro surgery that he had yesterday morning, 12/29/14.  And in fact Christ Fit is all about successes, failures, struggles, victories and being Christ Fit for every day life.
Dillon’s surgery went well and the doctor proclaimed it a success.  She also stated that when they got into his head; not only was the catheter, which goes into the interior part of his brain, not draining fluid but the shunt itself was also clogged.  There was no flow at all of fluid from his head, which is the reason the shunt was installed in the first place years ago.  Naturally occuring fluid that accumulates in the brian had nowhere to go without his shunt draining it off.  The resulting compression is supposed to mean lights out.  All Dillon has had by way of symptoms has been headaches.  Although no fun, they are by far more welcomed than death which should have been the result of Dillon’s blockage.
The doctor was asked how any of this was possible.  She truly had no answer.  She didn’t try to make anything up or explain it away with some far reaching theory.  She simply said she didn’t know how it had been possible but that is was clear he had been living with this blockage for a lengthy period of time.  You just never know.  I have prayed over Dillon for years.  I’ve prayed with weak faith just asking God to take care of him when I felt helpless over his headaches…
Short answer; God is still in the miracle business!  We were praising Him before the surgery and we are praising Him today.  I want to thank everyone for their prayers and remind you that God is still actively doing miracles today so no matter what you are experiencing keep eating a healthy spiritual and physical diet; exercising spiritually and physically; and doing them both consistently.  God has you in his hands and you just never know what miracles he is doing behind the scenes.
Praise God and may God bless you all.

MY SON IS HAVING NEUROSURGERY TOMORROW. PLEASE PRAY. (Christ Fit is about a lot more than getting in shape)

Christ Fit is about a lot more than loosing body fat and taking care of our bodies. That’s definitely part of it, but that is only a spit in the ocean as to why God has given me the vision and ministry of Christ Fit.  Like you, I have experienced a lot in life; much of which I could not have endured without Jesus in my life.  Even when I was weak in my faith or backslidden He was always there.  In I Samuel 16:13 Samuel anointed David with oil when God said, “This is the one; anoint him.”  David was still a young shepherd boy and doesn’t even take over the throne at this point, but the Bible says that “the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon David from that day on.”  Those last four words are special, “From that day on!”  So from that day and every day moving forward the Spirit of the LORD was powerfully upon David.  Question… even when he takes multiple wives, commits adultery, murders, lies, fights severe depression, has a cussing fit, and eats a pint of ice cream before bed?  Absolutely.  If the spirit was upon him how did he find himself in sin?  He was flesh.  But it was that same Spirit that brought him to repentance and gave him spiritual victories.
Life is tough.  I’m not complaining, but it’s a fact.  My parents got divorced when I was 10 and life was no picnic before that.  I’m not mad at my parents, but it stunk and always stinks for kids when their parents split up; just ask my kids.  I’m on my third marriage (And last.  I don’t deserve my beautiful and God ordained mate but I’ve got her).  I’ve been addicted to bodybuilding, marijuana, alcohol, porn and the list goes on.  My dad died in his 50’s in a motorcycle accident after being sober for 10 years and then falling off the wagon.  We had just started to get close again.  I’ve had as many career changes as I have hair cuts doing everything form going to boot camp when I was 17, to law enforcement, bouncing in night clubs, owning a mobile fitness training business, modeling in Europe, doing missionary work on the island of Roatan, owning a coffee shop, driving 18 wheelers over the road, working on ranches, training horses, directing a live-in fitness ranch, and working in the RV industry to list a few.  I’ve blown out my knee, donated a kidney, had a roll over car crash, been to jail, been in fights, climbed mountains and slid down them (literally).
Everyone has their own story and experiences.  No one is identical, but we can all certainly relate to moments in life that seemed insurmountable, stressful, depressing, painful, joyful, confusing, and even though the Bible is clear about not worrying etc.; we are human and we do sometimes.  Or is it just me?
How does all of this relate to the title of this post?  Well, when my oldest, Dillon, was being born he was injured with a vacuum extraction device.  He hemorrhaged and had 3 neuro surgeries within 30 days or so of birth.  He has had a VP shunt ever since to drain off fluid from his brain.  It is now clogged at age 16 so tomorrow morning at 6 AM, 12/29/2015, he goes in to have it replaced and have a new catheter inserted into the inner part of his brain.  I can say that at this stage in my life and at my level of being Christ Fit I am not worried; I have peace.  I do not need alcohol to cope and no matter what happens my faith is not shaken and I count it all joy.   I am Christ Fit and know that I must be to play on the playing field of life.  You must be too.
Whether you relate to some of my experiences personally or not you certainly have some of your own that are just as significant and you have more to come as do I.  To my 12 year old his tablet going on the blink can bring on cold sweats.  Maybe you do struggle with a food addiction of some sort or a general neglect of your bodily temple.  Maybe you’re in a bad relationship.  You’ve got something.  Life is real and life is tough.  No matter what, God is good and life is great and worth living to the fullest running with Jesus.
The fact is that when you are Christ Fit you will soar much higher on the updrafts of life and you will fade the heat much better when life hits you upside the head.  This is why God has given me the ministry of Christ Fit.  To help the weak become strong and the strong become stronger.  How do we become Christ Fit?  1). Eat a Healthy Spiritual and Physical Diet.  2). Exercise Spiritually and Physically.  and 3). Do Them Both Consistently.    Simple.  Challenging.  Effective.   This is why I have written the 31 Day Christ Fit Journal.  It is a simple but very powerful tool to help develop the 3 key Christ Fit principles as a lifestyle that will lead to being spiritually and physically fit.  Christ Fit.
Please be in prayer for Dillon Nokes as he goes into surgery tomorrow morning. God bless you all.
